Field of research

Three main areas of interest are explored. The first focuses on clinical and pharmacoepidemiological studies on the use and misuse of opioids. This work, carried out by N. Authier with the OFMA and the pain clinic, could have significant repercussions in public health and a real pharmacological impact for patients treated with opioids. This second line of research (G. Pickering) includes the study of chronic pain in specific patient subpopulations in order to improve their treatments and care. Finally, a third field of investigation will consist of the analysis of the symptomatology and diagnosis of CIPN (D. Balayssac).

Pathophysiology of mechanical allodynia Axis

We are exploring the mechanisms of mechanical allodynia, a symptom where light pressure causes pain, to discover new therapeutic targets and improve treatments.

Pathophysiology of migraine Axis

We are investigating the mechanisms of migraine, a debilitating neurological condition, to identify new therapeutic targets and improve non-pharmacological treatments.
