Biography:

My pre-clinical research work, on rats and mice, first focused on the characterization and modulation of nociceptive activities within the trigeminal sensory complex, the first central relay of information coming from the cephalic sphere. I subsequently focused on the pathophysiology of migraine and developed in this context a new model of migraine in rats. This model supported work aimed at identifying new therapeutic targets such as the role played by astrocytes and D-Serine. Currently my work concerns the identification of potential anti-migraine treatments and in particular the interest of dual enkephalinase inhibitors and/or delta opioid receptor agonists.

Approaches/Techniques:

My work is based on in vivo electrophysiological (extracellular single unit recordings), behavioral (rat mouse), pharmacological and immunohistochemical approaches.

Carried out within the IUT of Clermont Auvergne, covering animal and human physiology, neuroscience and animal experimentation.

  • Educational manager of training for applicators of procedures and experimental surgery.
  • Head of the Auvergne Brain Week committee.
  • President of the AuverBrain association (popularization of neuroscience for the general public).
  • CESPAU/Neuro-Dol correspondent for general public events.
  • INSERM referent for the management and prevention of media risk relating to animal experimentation on Clermont sites.
